“We have to be the women we want our daughters to be.” — Brené Brown
As you may know, I have been blessed with three beautiful daughters. A task that I do not take lightly. However, if I’m being honest, I fail at more often than not. There is some comfort in the fact that my own mother didn’t do it perfectly and that it all worked out, but the immense pressure remains to equip them to be the best version of themselves. If you’re like me and raising daughters that aren’t always easy, I see you. The way that social media now can now cast us in this perfect snapshot kind of a way can leave us with even more of the feeling that we’re not getting it right. Being a girl comes with a set of challenges for sure, but also with so many privileges.
This week is about us sharing why we love being girls, building each other up, sharing what might be encouraging to the mommas who are in the thick of it, and learning from those who have already crossed the finish line into the adult/friend stage. My mom is one of the greatest gifts in my life. If my daughters see me as even half of the woman she is someday, I’ll count it a win.
Girlfriends, mommas, daughters, grandmothers, aunties, sisters…isn’t it good to be a girl?! What’s your favorite part?
